Here's my situation: I'm 23 and in law school and haven't really been much of a competitive runner since undergrad. (I was at a D3 school and was fairly average for that level). Lately, my working out has been pretty sporadic. I may run 3-5 miles 3 or 4 days a week or I may lift weights 2-3 days a week. Either way though, it seems like I can't focus on one without the other suffering due to time constraints and a general lack of motivation to do both.
Lately though, I've been contemplating just picking one to focus on to see what I can do. So if I'm lifting weights, I'll be doing that 3-4 days a week and eating a lot and all that good stuff. If it's running, I'll start to crank the mileage and hopefully make a run at a good 5k. (I was a mid-d guy in college, so my HS 5k time is still my 'PR' though I'd like to see what I could do). Anybody have any advice on which to choose? I couldn't be much more indecisive on the issue. One day I think its time to buff, the next I think it's time to hit the pavement. Thoughts?? Advice??
