I'm planning to do a 5K on Sunday 9/14 and want to want a PR. Obviously one workout isn't going to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but I was thinking that doing some race-pace work and some light 200s on Wednesday would be good.
Then I read in Jack Daniels' book that he recommends doing "T-pace" work (in other words, tempo run), which is slower than 5K race pace, as the last workout before a race, and then have 3 easy days.
Does anyone have an opinion about which type of workout I ought to do and why?
