If 100 miles per week is the path to glory, why ins't everyone running that much?
If 100 miles per week is the path to glory, why ins't everyone running that much?
Because I'm a sprinter.
A pyramid has a broad base and a small peak. We need people like you at the base to support us.
100mpw isn't the best for everyone. Most people WILL benefit greatly from it though. The problem is that you can't just decide to run 100mpw all of a sudden. It takes most runners a long time to build up to that, and sometimes there're just too many complications to ever get there. That might sound pussy, but if you're building up your mileage and then get hurt and have to take a week off, you're probably going to have to lower your mileage a bit that first week or two back. If you have something like this come up, especially if it comes up more than once, you can run out of time to get to 100mpw; It's not very smart to be increasing your mileage late in a season.
I've gotten up to 95mpw, and it took me 3 months to get there from 75mpw, but I get injured relatively easily, so I took my time.
I went from 0-80 and 100 is the next target. you're all pussays!
Well who are you?
I'm too slow.
Because I'm a bum.
I don't have legs.
time, too much effort, legs always feeling like shit.70-80 is as high as i've gone.
If smoking is bad for you, why doesn't everyone stop?
Because its not needed
because i have a full time job.
last year i hit 100mpw once and it was hard but the benefits are well worth the hard work...i am looking to hit 100mpw by next week i have been in the 80-93 range for about a month now so i should be ready...it does take some discipline i will say that
I have ADD
Because it would require focusing on the long term on some level and I have the attention span of a mosquito.
Because I have mono
cus my coach has coached a couple of Americas all time greatest runners and he says its not needed.
Because running glory ain't close enough to the top of my list of motivators right now. Was a couple years ago, may yet be again some day. Of course "glory" is awfully relative, for someone of my age and limited talent.
Less than half that much (and only once a day!), plus a little bike commuting, seems to be enough to give me the best looking legs in Brooklyn anyway.
i'm too busy picking up married women
