Do they even make a neutral lightweight trainer anymore?
Do they even make a neutral lightweight trainer anymore?
I could be mistaken, but I thought the 903 is a neutral lightweight trainer. It's the successor to the 902. I've heard some people say that it's not as good, but I find it comfortable and responsive.
I loved the natural and light feel of the 833/25/26 series...would the 903's post take away from this?
Has anyone tried the 1085?
I think the 800 is the new 826. I believe it is out on October 1.
Here's the 800. I had a chance to look at a prototype back in January, but not to try it on. It's supposed to be aimed at mid-foot strikers. A bit pricey for me.

I've missed the 900, wish that they still made it. I'm now to the point where I mainly buy racing comps, just got fed up with too much cushioning and whatnot.
Not sure what inventory is like with the 826.
Check out the 737. It is a826 bottom with a modified 1223 upper. Just as light and cheaper to boot!!!
The 800 might work but is very "mid-foot" specific...
I despise the 903. First NB shoe that has hurt my feet. I loved the 900 from like 3 or 4 years ago. The 825 and 826 are also solid. The 903 is not only ugly, but my feet hate every step of them, which is very uncommon. I am thinking Mizuno wave precision as a lightweight trainer, anyone have thoughts or comments on that?
So the 800 is almost nothing like the 825/26, and the 900 series is technically a lightweight stability shoe, since it has the TS2 system. And for those that hate the 903, the 904 is going to be much much nicer, not quite as perfect as the 900 but damn close. I have heard good things about the 1085 as a decent replacement for the 825/26 but I have not tried it on myself.
Thanks for all of the comments. I think I'll try out the 1085 now, and stay tuned for the 904...
Comparable products from other brands?
I've been buying every 826 in sight, I can't find a shoe like it. The Brooks Burn or T5(?) may be a close match, maybe a bit wider.
find a real running company to buy shoes from
nb is spending too much time with the fashionistas in NYC to worry about running
their days as a sport company died away many years ago

By the way, I have run in the Precision a lot, and found it to be quite good. Very comparable to the 825, although I always found the 833 to be a little less shoe -- my all-time favourite.
