I love the mizuno wave alchemy series. I have been running in these for the past 4 years or so. Some may say that they are a bit heavy, but they work well for me.
I also use the Mizuno Wave Revolver flats, and love them as well.
I have had quite a few pairs of Mizuno shoes over the last few years and i have loved them. They last a very long time which is definitely a plus for me since i usually end up wearing them around after i am done running with them
mizuno is great The shoes tend to last a bit longer than most running shoes since the cushioning and stability elements are made of plastic rather than foam, gel or air.
I have found that mizuno shoes feel as if they give me a better energy return and better toe off than most other shoes. sure, they dnt have that step in cushy/soft feel that some other shoes do. But do yu really need to be running in something as soft as the vomero or Nimbus? Not really, it isnt what we were intended to be in. Also, most of the other shoes out there that have that soft feel at the first step in is because of the ortholite sock insole they have. Take it out and you'll feel none of that.
Try a mizuno, and see ho you like it. I highly recommend them.
I've worn Mizuno's on and off since 1980 and not only have they never disappointed, but I don't know anyone who dislikes 'em either. They have always gone under the radar in the US (no marketing)but I think them superior in comfort and durability to anything else except possibly ASICS.
I'm surprised to hear people saying that Mizunos last longer. My Wave Riders have not held up well compared to other running shoes I've had, and they definitely haven't held up as well as the Wave Riders I used to have around 2001-2003.
I think they might actually last longer if I pronated a little more. I always land exactly where the sole splits.
Mizunos must be good if they won double gold medals in the 5000 & 10000 at the Olympics...but wait--Nike did that as well!
mizunos are a very decent shoe brand. they have a higher arch height than most other shoe companies and they also have a higher heel cup than most other shoe companies.
the lighter/more responsive shoes from every shoe company are going to last a little less than the heavier/more cushioned shoes.
i found a website that offers a good price on mizuno shoes.

Physio asked me to show her the runners I train in.
Brought in my Wave Riders. She told me they're rubbish and said I shouldn't even walk to the shops in them.
i find that the heel area of Mizuno's is pretty wide. They can be good shoes if your heel doesn't slip.
I have a pair of wave elixer 3's that I really enjoy.
well, your physio sucks. our local podiatrist loves mizunos. i've been running high mileage in the mizuno precisions for about five years -- great shoes.
