How do these two compare other than the posting on the mana? Is does one fit differently or is more substantial than the other? I can't really tell from the pictures, but they seem to be around the same weight.
Any experiences?

I have the CS, I really like them. Light and flexible. No idea what the Mana is all about.
how do the mana and cs compare to some of the older adidas light trainer/ racers like the supernova light or the adizero LT?
The only non-cosmetic difference is that the Mana is posted. It's a hugely significant difference, though.
I have the CS and the LT, which is identical to the Mana except for the small post on the heel. I would say the feel is very similar, the weight is also very close. The only real difference is that the CS has Adiprene cushioning compound on the forefoot, giving the forefoot strike more distance from the ground and more cushioning obviously.
The new Mana (out this fall/winter) will have a post in the forefoot in addition to the one in the heel.
what's the purpose of the post?
Countering late-stage pronation, presumably. The old version of this shoe was the Supernova Comp and that had a pretty big medial post and a fairly straight last. The original DS Racer had two medial posts like the new Mana will.
