I think Bolt might be able to take MJ's record down and do it this week. I did not think I would say that was possible for several more years.

Very possible, but it seems like Bolt is almost uninterested in the WR, more concerned with winning the gold...
There were 9 strides that Bolt took while seemingly on glide. 9 strides, probably 24-27 meters...
Those strides at full measure and 9.60 would have been toast.
If Bolt wants too take the record I Have no doubt that he will get it.
Although I would not be suprised too see him slowing up at the end like he did in the 100m.
It is a done deal if Bolt wants it. He is going to win the 200 easy, his biggest remaining challengers are not running as well as they did last season.
2 golds and 2 world records. 19.29
maybe...he's the obvious favorite for Gold in the 200m, but Michael Johnson's world record race was a super-human race just like Bolt's 100 yesterday.
It will be hard for him to beat that time but it's possible. It is going to be awesome to see if he tries to take it down. He definitely saved something at the end of the 100m.
He's going to take both world records down in stages. Why? He can negotiate world record bonuses with meet directors, like Bubka used to do. If he takes 'em down to low right now, this bonus money will be harder to come by.
I don't see the 200m record going down just yet. He doesn't have the speed-endurance.

On the BBC Michael Johnson said he thought Bolt would be unable to do it this year as he's been concentrating on the 100 and probably doesn't have the endurance. He reckoned he'd win in around 19.5 if memory serves me right.
endurance?
he will bet it easily.

19.32 is pretty steep, but Bolt has the jets to do it if he is threatened.

Different things entirely. Bubka had a lot of control over setting the record since he could raise the bar 1 or 2 cm and then easily clear it and come back a few weeks later than raise it again.
It is hard to break a record by some margin and then break it again by just a small margin and then again in running events.
The track in Beijing also seems fast and a couple of commentators have made that observation. Maybe it is because they keep lane 1 open to all the air to be moved away easier.
Are you kidding me? Bolt is from another planet. Not only is 19.32 coming down, but he may scare 18!
No way he breaks that record. But there is nothing wrong with 19.5.
200WR > 100WR

Oops. Reminder: do not place bets on info from iffyboats.
It's gone! 19.30!
