Can anyone recommend any that won’t make me look like a total tool? My normal rainbow flip flops are killing my feet.

The Montrail Molokai are awesome sandals. They can be warmed up in your oven and then molded to your feet.
Do you have the rainbows with the single or double arch support?
double
Birkenstocks.
When my feet are hurting at the end of the day, I just kick off my dress shoes and slip into my Birkienstock sandals. It's a great feeling and soon after my feet aren't hurting anymore.
My podiatrist recommended the Naot sandal, fairly expensive, but very comfortable with great arch support. Well worth the investment and come on a variety of styles.
Chaco
NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOUR UGLY FEET. PUT SHOES ON PLEASE.
I agree with the Chacos. I got a pair and have had no issues.
Halflingers or Birks...anything with cork to support and mold to your arch.

Amen to that. The only time I don't wear my birkenstocks is when I'm running or nude.
the chaco flip are very supportive (pu footbed) and I believe are cheaper than birks. And last I checked Birkenstock didn't make flip flops and they looked lame.
...the world. talks about flip flops for a runner with pf....No.

go with Chacos. I have mild pf and they work fine.
Apparently, maybe some of the German contingent can verify this, Birkenstocks are prescribed therapeutic shoes over there, instead of the suburban hippy-granola shoes they are in the States. Might not be a bad shoe to try for your feet.
Never been to Germany but I can report they're not strictly suburban hippy-granola. I have plenty of fellow hippy-granola Birk wearers here in über-ürban NYC.
They are also sold in all the therapeutic shoe stores I've seen in this country.
Birkenstocks support the arch and maintain an even heel to forefoot ratio, thus helping to stretch the achilles and soleus. They are great for plantar fasciitis.
as do chacos, which are also prescribed by podiatrists, but are not carried by as many orthopedic footwear stores because they look too normal.
But yes Birkenstock also makes a stable biomorphic sandal. But they do not make flip flops or sandals that are designed to be used off of hard man made surfaces. Zing!
I got a pair of birkenstocks this year and they hurt my feet. Luckily, Sierra Trading Post refunded me even though I had worn them. It could have been the footbed on that particular pair that was annoying me. I've had comfortable birkenstocks in the past but still had trouble wearing them for a long period of time. I have low arches - maybe that's it?
I have three pairs of chacos and love them. I have had Z1 since 2004 and wear them all the time, no problems, very comfortable. This year, I got flips and wrapsody because it was the best I could do for fashion + support with certain outfits (yes, I am female). The sandals with the heel strap (z1 or z2) are best for your feet and most comfortable in my opinion. The flips are not as supportive, bad for achilles, but still better than the super flat cheap type if you really want to wear flip flops once in awhile.
This is a good thread. I'm always looking for shoes that are supportive and look decent. That goes for ladies work shoes that can fit orthodics, too.
