I'm training for a few races in the winter that range from 2 miles to ten k. Is training at 85% of my current 5k race pace for my runs (mostly 30-40 minutes) too hard?

I haven't the slightest. Does it FEEL too hard? If it does...it is!
I train a 65% of my 5k pace (4:52) on my easy days (7:30). However, I am training 80-100 mpw and need to recover on my easy days from my hard runs. In addition, I am also training for a marathon now not 2 miles to 10k.

Seems like an odd pace (~50-60s slower than 5k pace). To hard to be an easy run, too slow to be a tempo type run.
HRM guys say 70% of max (an no higher) is an easy day.
For 32 min. 10k guys 7:30-8:00 is easy pace.
