I just came across this from the '99 World Championships:

I want that. I would ROCK the Sunday run. I hope it comes in Adult Small. I would be the coolest looking dude at any race wearing that. Even though I'm very white, they would say "Damn! You are the hottest Kenyan ever. I love you. You ROCK!"
Shameless self promotion is my guess.
"It is the same racing singlet that Paul Tergat and Benjamin Limo wore when they won the silver medals in the 10k and 5k, respectively- a fine collectible piece! It has never been worn and features Nike Dri-Fit technology."
So you're telling me two people wore this same singlet, but then again they didn't? And since when would a Kenyan distance runner wear a size large?
Thats right up there with overweight 45 minute 10k runners who run in singlets and shorts worn by sponsored runners. I can somehow see either some 18 minute high school kid or some fat 45 year old weekend warrior wearing this thing at my next local 5k. Unless your kenyan - and fast- you should NOT being wearing kenya across your chest.
c'mon, he meant "it is LIKE". grow up.
and why can't the general running public wear 'real' sponsored athletes' gear? you can walk down the streets of boston and see hundreds of people sporting other professional sports apparel. if some fat f*** can sport a kevin garnet jersey, tom brady jersey, or a big papi uniform, then i can surely wear a nike uniform while running a 15:30 5k in a local road race. besides, wouldn't it be PROMOTING our sport in certain instances. ??? get over it.

Yeah, if you want to look like as big a loser as those guys. What could be more pathetic than wearing someone else's name on your shirt? When you make the Kenyan national team, wear their singlet. Until then, race in your club's colors.
running gear interests me. i like to collect stuff like the original poster offers.
anyone have a kenya singlet they wanna sell?
bump
It's good for the sport to wear sponsored athlete gear, even for the 45min 10k runner. You guys need to lighten up and stop being elitist
Just because you wear a kenyan singlet, that just means you're a fan. It's just like wearing a big papi shirt to a neighborhood softball game. It's good for the sport. It might piss some of us serious runners off though because the general public (mostly fitness runner let's say) mistakes a 17min 5k guy for a national caliber runner just because he finished 3rd at a local 5k
