I need some advice and I need it very soon. A company has offered to sponsor me (entry fee)in the PDX marathon, however I have not been training for that distance as my mileage is around 30mpw at this time. I'm no slouch to the distance and have run many of them the fastest being 2:36 and many of them under 2:40. My question is since there's only 8 weeks of training, should I even attempt this distance? If yes, what type of training should I focus on to see a modest finish under 3:10 or so? The sponsor doesn't care much about what time I run so there's no real pressure to do a specific time. I'm just worried about how much I should boost my training if I decide to take this on.
