I've been feeling pretty run down lately (3-4 naps a day). I found this kind of unusual since I am going less miles and easier workouts than I have in the past since I am just getting back from an extended layoff. I am about 3 months into a new training cycle so the fatigue from 8 weeks off should have worn off by now. My diet is shaky. Some days I eat well and drink plenty of water. Some days I don't. I do take a Centrum Performance vitamin every morning and have been for a year or so, but was also considering taking an iron supplement once a week (the morning of a workout day or race). I temporarily don't have health insurance so I can't get any doctor appts. or blood work done.
So, I guess my question is if taking an iron supplement once a week bad. I don't plan on taking a powerful one. I basically on going over to the local CVS and picking up a pretty basic one. Any thoughts?
