About 8 years ago when in my mid 20's, I was running at about one minute per mile faster in all my race distances. My in-season training has not changed much and I have paid close attention to increasing recovery time slightly as I have gotten older. Although I know that people do slow down with age, I do not think age 33 is old enough to slow down this drastically (5k went from sub-6 min/mile to 7 min/mile; half-marathon from 6:45 to 7:35). Most of my similar-aged cohorts have either not slowed down as drastically or have gotten a bit faster, especially in the longer races. Anyone have any ideas about this? I just want your thoughts...thanks.
