Anyone train in either of these? How are they?
Anyone train in either of these? How are they?
Anyone?
I'm on my 2d pair of HS2s. Soft feeling forefoot, comfortable fit from heel forward, and has a platform that accommodates orthotics well, if necessary.
Very nice shoes overall. An old school flat feel, in many ways.
How many miles can you get out of them? Do you use them for just racing or do you also train in them? How would they hold up on a trail?
I have been running my marathon type runs in the Bandito and I love them. The snug comfort feels like you can fly. So give them a try, super light as well.
currently training the hyperspeed 2s, never tried the banditos. I love the HS2s, however I wouldn't use them on rocky trails, or if it is muddy. The forefoot feels great, but you can feel rocks through them, so any rocks that are pointy at all are going to hurt. It is also very breathable so if you are running in mud or rain, it won't keep you dry (not like most shoes would, but these ones even less).
Don't know exact numbers, but I'd say that 300+ is a fair assumption. Most of those are trail--hard pack, sandy, a bit rocky--miles and they could go longer, probably.
I bought a pair of hyper speeds last December.
For me quite simplely the best shoe I've had on for sometime. The way a shoe should be...simple.
My foot tracks very well in them.
Have run 2 races 5 & 8K & been training in them, 1 hour run, twice a week since. Holding up well, no break down.
I picked up a pair of Hyperspeeds a month and a half ago. I do all my mileage in them, 100% roads. I am loving them. They feel very nice and the heel is super low, which I like. The shoe is cut wide which is also good for me, but might not be good if your foot is very narrow. They are also cut short, so size up a half size. I remember someone else saying that before I got them and I ignored it, not the best idea.
I can feel the rocks through the shoe, so they might not be the best for rugged trail running. They also seem to get very heavy when wet, for a <7 ounce shoe atleast. My Hyperspeeds have almost 700 miles, the tread on the bottom has noticeable wear but other than that they are holding together okay. I usually use shoes until they fall apart, but I'll probably replace these around 1k miles so I can get my moneys worth and then size up.
I recommend these 100%.
I do most of my training in the Bandito. I like them--though go a half size up. I went with the same size I wear in almost every other running shoe and they are small on me. I have close to 300 miles in them and they are like new minus the dirt. I do use them on trail and road. The trails I run are cinder with some larger rocks--those I can feel. I expect to get anywhere from 500-800 miles in them (it is the first pair I have had so I am unsure).
I'd say get them. Cost wise though they are about $25 more than the Hyper Speeds. I may start training in both of these shoes.
I love the Hyperspeeds. They are far more cushioned than the other flats I train in. I didn't think they would hold up all that well, but they have suprised me. One caveat, about 40 minutes into a run I would get hot spots in the center of my forefoot (both feet). I couldn't figure out what was happening and it was not a problem in my other shoes. I finally took the liner out and noticed that on my pair they have a raised center portion in the forefoot. I cut some thin moleskin and put two pieces on either side of this raised portion. Problem solved.
Good luck, I think you'll like them!! (and they're cheap)
I do all my road running and racing in the HS2. Simply the best shoe I've ever had -- bought 5 pairs and may buy more. An unusual combination of low heel and substantial cushioning. I take the liner out and use soft orthotics. Great for the marathon.
great shoe, when will we get a new color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
