So, I start my first year of college xc this fall and am looking for a new spike. During my 2 years of HS XC, I used the Saucony Kilkenny flats (I was a complete noob when I bought these) and they worked out fine, but I gave them to a younger team member who needed some flats for workotus and such. I have a pair of Eldoret IIs that I would love to use for XC, but it looks like a lot of the courses won't be all grass and I rather save my Eldo IIs for track if that's the case. I won't be going beyond 8k in these spikes as there's no way I'd go past my coneference meet (I'm pretty damn slow but I still like to train hard and see how much I can improve), much less a regional meet. So what would be a good XC spike for the 8k distance? It looks like a lot of the courses won't be ALL grass so a track spike might not be very useful. I'm willing to spend up to about $90 on these as long as they'll last me through at least 2 seasons (including workouts in them, mostly on grass though).
