Hey everybody. I've decided that I want to start training competively again after almost a year of not running. I'm thinking of either training for the 5k or the marathon, maybe a bit of both.
I'm 21 years old at a school with no running program. My PRs are 22.5 in the 200m, 50.1 in the 400m, 1:54.87 in the 800m. I haven't raced in any distance above 800m, but I think 5k or marathon would be best for me now, and the most enjoyable.
The most mileage I've ever done on a consistent basis is 30-40 miles a week. I want to do this safely and succesfully, how should I start out after my year away?
