Basically I realize that even though I am running only 3.1 miles for my XC race that is is beneficial to train by running well over that (I shoot for 6 miles 6x a week). BY the way i am a freshman in HS.
BUT, I can't exactly give a proper reason to my parents on why it is good to run the extra mileage as they seem to think that i should just run my race distance all the time. The only reason i can think of is that it will build me up more aerobically and help me greatly in the 800m come track season. What are some other reasons I can give them??
