My Garmin Forerunner 205 has four small round metal contacts on the back of the watch. The contacts are a brass/copper color. The four contacts couple to four complementary metal pins in the cradle that is used to transfer data to a computer and recharge the unit.
One of the four contacts on the watch turns black every time I run. I have to scrape it clean -- with a knife or a scissors -- every time I want to connect the watch to the cradle. What is odd is the other 3 contacts never turn black. The other three contacts are always a shiny brass/copper color. Just the one contacts turns black, every time I use the watch. If I don't scrape the one contact clean, the watch won't connect. It appears that somehow my sweat is causing corrosion or some sort of chemical reaction on just one of the four contacts. I wonder if this contact is made of a different material than the other three, even though they all look the same.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas of what to do, other than scraping the one contact every time I want to connect?
