Let's hope in the Olympic final he starts his kick 1 step sooner than last year. Looks like he's getting ready at exactly the right time (unlike a certain fellow running the 1500 in Paris).
he's come a long way since:
I second your feelings, exactly; alot of people are counting Teg out and it seems that he is doing everything right by making the Oly team and still not looking sharp; starting to round into top shape now and sharpening up with a few big meets in Europe!!! Go Teg!!!!!
he beat ritz in that race, it was the first time ritz had lost a race in like 2+ years.

the ot marathon maybe?
it was in high school. teg didn't run the ot marathon. look at the picture posted and you will understand what i was referring to.
GO TEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ritz had a way better style and i just swallowed chest rub by accident. damnit.
Nice article but WTF is up with the video of him warming up?
How about a video of the ACTUAL RACE. Who gives a crap about seeing Teg in his girly see-thru shirt dancing around. I wanna see the race.

It was actually in Vancouver, WA at the U.S. Trials to determine our World Junior XC team (Teg was a freshman at Wisconsin)
teg looks really quick in that video. lots of pop. i think he just might break 13 this year. we'll see.
anyone know if he is moving to portland with schu...
Heard he would move after the Olympics.
"...beating training partners Jonathon Riley, Chris Solinsky and Sean Quigley..."
Interesting to see Quigley in that mix. Anyone know of the other guys' times?
I heard that also. Sounds like most of the guys are waiting until the fall to move.I was there last night and it was a great environment for the race. Easily over 500 people there watching and everyone was right on the track watching. All the XC campers were cheering the whole time and I am sure it was the first time most of them had ever seen a race that fast. All the guys stayed around afterwards and took pictures, signed autographs, and just talked to everyone. It was a great race and sad that they will all be moving soon.

I wonder if Solinsky is still talking bad about Teg for not leading? Bad blood between those two would not be good for the group. I thought Quigley was staying with his coach in Philly?

Tegenkamp 3:37.94
Riley 3:39.02
Solinsky 3:40.67
Quigley 3:43.36
My post on T&FNews site is below. Quigley is apparently going over with them to run in Huesden (spelling?) and to try to get into a "B" race as well. Apparently they will not be based in Europe at all this summer but just make a relatively brief trip with one or two races each.
Post:
It was pretty warm for the race, temp 80 dew point 70, light breeze.
The race was pretty even with Jager pacing the first 1050. I was straight behind the start line and then went to just immediately before the finish.
58.17 (including additional 0.24)
59.16
58.01/2:55:34
3:37.93, official time 3:37.94

Teg waited until the last 150m to kick everyone down and it looked to me that Solinsky didn't like that. He also looked a little upset when Teg was getting interviewed by everyone and the rest of the guys were not.Just my very outside of the loop opinion.

solinsky was never really in the race so i can't see why he would be all that upset at teg. maybe he was upset with himself because of not having the last gear that teg and riley did. solinsky never even challenged for the lead so you can't say teg sat on anyone. teg led when the rabbit dropped, riley made his move and teg made a countermove.

The interviewing order was a little complicated because they were interviewing Teg first, of course, and then Jerry and the interviewer probably knew a bit because they spent a while at it. I remember someone going to get Solinsky during this time (I am guessing near the end of Teg's beginning of Jerry's interview). Then the timing was tight because it was already 9:40 or so and the 10pm news was a target.
Solinsky actually made the first move before Riley's and I think that Riley then went around Chris and you could see that he was beginning to labor a bit by that point (end of the back straight and into the turn -- look at the video). It was a little hard to follow the last 350 from the field because of the fans ringing the field, including the infield for the last straight.
