In the next week or so I'm going to be buying a new pair of running shoes and since I've been out of the sport for a while I was hoping to get some recommendations for a decent, light-weight, but supportive enough shoe to handle about 60-70 miles a week which I will be hitting in about three months. In college I wore the nike zoom air but have given thought to trying something a little lighter for training such as a light-weight trainer or flat. Are there any shoes in particular that stand or any that I should definitely stay away from? How many of you guys are having success with training in flats or super light-weight trainers? Also, I do use a pair of custom-made orthotics that I have from back in college and most likely will continue to use them. I'm willing to bet that they will not fit in some racing flats so hopefully I can find a shoe light enough that will have room for them.
