Various shoe companies make replicas of their older running shoes. These are intended to look the same as the shoes people ran in 30 years ago. This doesn't necessarily mean that they really are the same. The materials and the workmanship may be significantly inferior to what was used in the original model, in which case you may not enjoy running in them. Not sure if this applies to karhu, but it's at least a possibility.
On the other hand, they may work great. What do I know?
I have been running in vintage Nike Elite for the past week. I've also run in vintage Nike Waffle Racers in the past. If you can handle training in racing flat you should be able to handle the Nike vintage collection. Previously I've trained in the Adidias Adizero Mana, Brooks T4, Brooks Racer ST, Nike Marathoner, Locorunning Bandito, among others. Noticeable difference is the lack of stability, especially in the heel. I added a LifeFitness insert that provides a little more rigidity in the heel and an arch support. I got a size 8, but they seem about 1/2 a size too big. I wouldn't trust them sprinting downhill around a turn...:)

I've run happily in many vintage shoes in the last few years, my favorites being the Onitsuka Moscow and Saucony Cambridge. They hold up fine.
