YAWN.
anybody who lives at that altitude is NATURALLY blood doped, you idiot.
Tirunesh Dibaba is represented by Mark Wetmore of Global Athletics in Boston...you're right-she doesn't have a dodgy European agent!
jen rhines 14:54
shouldnt be overlooked
How many people got lapped? 13th or 14th place onward?

Her birthday is listed as January of 1985, which makes her 23.
And what 5o you know of them? Nothing. You make baseless claims because you're a sad, jaded person who succumbs to prejudice instead of actually learning a thing or two about the people you write about so libelously.
trying this :
assuming diby is a 55 - 56 / 14'05 - 14'10 gal currently in perfectly paced race :
56 / 14'10 ->~ 1'58.6 , 3'53.6 , 8'11.8 , 29'42.4
56 / 14'05 ->~ 1'58.4 , 3'52.7 , 8'09.4 , 29'29.6
55 / 14'10 ->~ 1'57.2 , 3'51.8 , 8'10.3 , 29'49.2
55 / 14'05 ->~ 1'57.0 , 3'51.0 , 8'07.9 , 29'36.5
i'd have to believe she'd be overwhelming favorite for the 1.5k in peking - capable of at worst a 3'53
for 10k, looks like just possibly outside the wr
if timetable allowed, she coud win 1.5k/5k/10k in peking !!!
What was the previous 5k record held by Meseret Defar? I know Defar set the old 5k WR last year.
Jeez...Jen improves upon her top-five all time US mark and gets WORKED by Dibaba.
14:16 and change from last year's Bislett
Nice to see a great looking cutie on top... of the world.
That's a tremendous time for an American Women. only 10 seconds off the American Record.
5 Ethiopians in the top 10, and the geniuses here explain the top performance by drugs. Meanwhile, Shalane Flanagan runs fast, and it's all chalked up to hard work.
Don't worry, you still got ice hockey covered...and archery.

I lost interest in these little pharmaceutical experiments a long time ago.
So Ryan Hall must be doped too, right? I mean if all the super-talented africans (and no one, not even the drug cynics, deny their extraordinary talent) are doped out of their minds (ie, are all "little pharmaceutical experiments"), then how the hell does Hall hang with their best/beat most of them?? I mean the guy was an up and down college runner, who was running shitty 5k races soon before he suddenly moved to the longer races and then out of nowhere he is debuting at the 1/2 marathon faster than Geb & Tergat debuted at the distance. Now he is running the marathon faster than all but only a handful of africans, and if he had run a more even pace in London, he would have run nearly as fast as KK, who many assume is a doper and was a recent WR holder during the EPO era.
So all you "the africans are all doped" naysayers, state the only logical conclusion that you can come to based on your reasoning with me: RYAN HALL IS DOPED OUT OF HIS MIND. I'd just like to hear some of you say it.
( I don't believe that, but it is the logical extension of the arguments against the best africans).
Anyone got her splits? I found this in the other thread that is much shorter:
2:42 last K, holy crap 67-66-65-63.9
Truly incredible
No vedio on youtube or runnerspace yet... good race though
and you know them how?
and you know bolt how?
and you know geb how?
Ryan hall doesnt smash the WR like that.... finish the race and giggle around the track.... Usually when I finish running that fast, Im on the floor.. not trotting around giggling. Then again i cant run a 58 second quater at the end of a 30 minute 5k. And I dont know many 23 year olds collegians running that fast.. but it is fun to watch..
maybe one day she will be tired after a hard run like that..
Maybe the chinese werent doping either. Maybe Ben Johnson didnt dope.. who knows.. maybe these are all just freaks of nature...
I think the Kenyan 800 runner is really a man though
