Sundell wins men's race in low 24s over Colangelo, Meyer, Tarpy and Shoe to beacome four-time All Ivy.
Brown beats Princeton and Dartmouth for team title.
Princeton women upset Columbia, who does not have Trish Nolan (and I'm a CU guy), although Hickin wins individual title over Cack Farell and Emily Kroshus.
Army will win. Oh, wait, we aren't in the HEPS anymore b/c our school decided to go to a shitty conference called the Patriot League. Great.
Columbia will win, they have too much depth to be touched by Princeton.
if you stick around after you get to see Big East.
low 24's for sundell? thats moving at vancortland. don't see it happenning
good day of cross racing friday though. heps, bigeast, and iona's conference all in a row. it's supposed to be on the college sports tv network in a few weeks.

i thought navy dropped from heps?
First, Navy dropped from Heptagonals.
Columbia women should dominate, regardless of having Nolan side-lined. Caitlin Hicken and (star in the making) Lisa Stublic finish 1-2. Stublic has been doing well this season according to results of first 2 meets. I see her pulling an upset over Farell and Kroshus, with them placing 3-4 respectively. I see Stublic as being the key factor in a win. It seems to me, as stepping up as the #2 runner, she has a lot to prove, and a lot of women to beat. Stublic was awesome her freshman year, and can only improve as the years go on for this young Lion.
Stellato, Kilmer, and Zoltani will definitely be in the mix. I see the Lions sweeping top 10 places, with all scoring runners making All-Ivy First team. Columbia is very strong, and the rest of their season should be interesting (NE Regionals and NCAA Champs).
The only way the women won't dominate is if Stublic doesn't beat Princeton's 1-2 or they just don't show up. Even if Stublic doesn't get between Farell and Kroshus, Columbia has mastered pack running and they will be too tight to break up and will have everyone make All-Ivy. Though, I see the women being untested year, as far the team title goes. No one will touch the women, no one.
As far as the men go, it's gonna be a nail biter for the individual title. Shoemaker and Sundell showdown, definitely, with Colangelo, Meyer, and Tarpy pushing from behind. Men's title, I think Brown and Princeton will have their hands full. Columbia men seem to be garbage this season as far as performing when the gun goes off. But, I see them breaking out a bit, and maybe even Dusen will do something for the team, and be in the mix with the pace-setters up front.
Overall, Columbia vs. themselves, Sundell vs. Shoemake.
I bet Brown will have 2 in the top 5 and 5 in before anyone else to win...As for the women CU in a close one over Princeton
let's vote out the good teams. hahaha. Heps is like the Anti-ACC.
Alex Guerrero has also been having a breakout season, beating Kilmer at Penn State. I'm trying to find results, but Guerrero really stepped it up and has been a great strength with Nolan out. Go Lions!!
OK, low 24s may be a bit rich, but it may not. 24:30 range is certainly possible. Sundell has improved each season. His 13:58 last spring and his 23:45 at pre nats speak for themselves, and there is no reason to believe that he will not be ready come Friday. VCP is tough, but not as slow as it used to be, before the big rocks, roots, etc. were removed.
I take it back. CU women defeat Princeton. Even without Trish Nolan, one or two women besides the top four step up big time, and CU puts six in the top twelve, with Hickin taking overall title.
Go CU!
bump
If Army is so good in XC and the Patriot League is so weak in XC, why does Army not win every year (they lost last year, three years ago, and they will lose to American this year).
Donais believes the race will be won or lost in the hilly second mile of the course.
"There's one thing going through my mind -- attack the hills. Those babies can be lethal and I challenge my fellow Ivy League harriers to just try to stay with me..."
now back it up
Who is Donais? This girl will choke, I've never heard her name as being someone to be reckoned with in the Ivy League. Let alone, a kickass hill runner as she wants to be known. This aggrevates me so much , what a laughable statement. Donais will definitely have her ass handed to her tomorrow morning. Yea, good luck Donais, while you eat shit and dirt going up the hills at VCP. Hopefully, one of the top 10 Columbia girls that passes you gives ya a good kick going up the hill. Donais, phhfff.
Aww Hell, Columbia women will most likely sweep, for the first ever 15 pt score in Heps History.
1.Hickin - Columbia
2.Stublic - Columbia
3.Stellato - Columbia

5.Kilmer - Columbia

No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
