I just did Country Music in a pair of CSs and they were great, although I don't know that I wouldn't prefer the RC. The RC doesn't feel less cushioned, just not as stiff as the CS.
The heights are different. If you are running up your toes and are efficient runner then the RC's would be perfect for normal races. The problem with the Marathon is that as you get fatigued you run more on your heels and then may notice that the RC doesn't have the cushioning that you require. The CS is better for the marathon as the extra thickness means that it will last you through your training and you'll still be able to wear it on the big day.
I just did a 1/2 in the RC and heal-striked the whole way--which is more efficient for a mid-5 pace than running on toes. I didn't cool down which was dumb but I was only sore for two days. A marathon may be a different beast and I am thinking something in the 7 mid ounce range for that--perhaps the Bandito--see my thread.

What's what I'm getting at. I'm a fore/midfoot striker but after I get fatigued my form breaks down and I end up slightly heel striking at times. I think the CS and hyperspeeds both have more heel cushioning than the RC DCs.
Ryan Hall wears the Hyperspeeds, so they must be good...and I have two pairs.

I'm a heel striker (predominantly), and the hyperspeeds work great for me. They have quite a bit of cushioning in the heel.
