I only started to train seriously in my 30's, reaching 16 flat 5k by age 37? Sub 15 potential ya think?

No. 15:02.37 is the fastest you could have possibly hoped for. Sorry.
12:35.68
Now live the rest of your life in regret.
Does it matter? If someone says yes, are you going to think you "sort of" used to be a sub-15 guy?
Just to clarify...it's only a curiosity as to potential as it relates to age. I have no desire to tell people I could have run such and such a time.
Congratulations on training so diligently in your mid30s. Personally, I think it's more productive to work at what you can be than wonder what you might have been. Do something great in your 40s.
Well gotta figure esp for 5K you would have been substantially faster than 16 assuming all other things, work ethic etc were equal. you could go to one of those time graded tables and see what a 16 for a 37 yo male works out to. Nother questions how much volume it took to get you to sixteen, also was that a one off or were you able to reel off sixteens consistently and what about your other times, could you reel of 32:xx 10Ks consistently....
I think it is unknowable. Some people gradually improve over a long period, while some people reach their lifetime bests quickly. Some are on the decline by age 37, while others are peaking. No doubt you could have been faster at a young age, but no guesses from me about how much faster.
I'm in my 30s, started running when I was a kid, and I think I have a good shot of a 5K PR. But I never focused on 5k in my 20s, but shorter distances.
BREAKING: Athing Mu running 800m in Gainesville on Friday at Holloway Pro Classic
Jakob chugs almost an entire 32-oz sports drink in 6 seconds during interview
I don't believe Jakob is clean. injured and runs 3:26.7 a bit later?
After Jakob's 3:26, Kerr's chance of winning in Paris has INCREASED
Can we talk about how crazy hard this Olympic marathon course is?
