I've had this conversation at track meets with friends before and I wanted to ask it to a wider audience. What are the most UNbreakable records in track and field? My entries are KU's mile record which is 3:51.1 by Jim Ryun ('67) and Oregon's 800m at 1:41.77 by Joaquim Cruz ('84). Those marks will be on the books for the next 75 years at least. Even today, those are amazing times and there is NO WAY you could get or keep a kid in the college system if they were even close to that fast. Too much money to be made. (and yes, I know that Cruz's time was set outside of the NCAA season) What's your vote?
