Good to see that nothing has changed.
Did anyone watch it? It's good to see she's getting better, working out again, etc. I also noticed she was wearing a Pre t-shirt at the end.
I think it is fantastic that Tressa can push the boundaries of addiction to recover as well as being able to be the person she wants to be, fall in love with who she wants, and be strong and proud as an athlete on the path to greatness. At 32 she can do much more as an athlete with the mental and physical strength she had gained from her journey.
i think she is a loser and a weakling for turning to street drugs in the first place. there is nothing fantastic or admirable about her character
Tressa has to deal with her addiction and mistakes in public- at least she did not deface the sport by taking performance enhancing drugs. Although all drugs are banned and punishment necessary, the reasons behind are different. Sport is not pure (if you have been paying attention, heroes fall and fail). Her choice to do cocain was one that did not egotistically focus on winning at all costs. She has paid her price and if she could make a return in sport, Tressa will give hope to more than those who think they are on a high horse because they feel they have moral authority to call someone a loser. That is a weak tactic and shows poor character.
I think that you are so right...you have to give her credit for having the guts to go on national tv to air her dirty laundry....i wish her all the best and if i could tell her in person how proud i am of her and how much i relate to her story i would!!!!!! The world needs more STAND UP people like her. She is a beautiful person...that is obvious!!!!

If you watched the show you'd notice that her sexuality and her parents complete dislike thereof were a big factor in her drug use. It's not an excuse, she was an addict for over 8 years, but her bible-preaching parents didn't make it any easier for her.
She seemed to be doing better in the end. The realistic part of me thinks it would take her a minimum of 2 years to get back into any kind of pro shotput shape, if she was ever even able to, but the optimistic part of me hopes that in 2 years, she's back near the top again, where she could have been years ago.
I truly hope we see her in a few more years. Never doubt the ilmits of the human spirit.
Her parents and the bible beating did not help but that did not cause her to become a addict. I was amazed at her father who admitted to a affair yet ripped her for her sexuality. I think she has a great shot at staying clean as long as she stays in California and out of Nebraska. I too hope we see her again competing.
After years of being clean my I caught my gal using meth a few weeks ago. I have an addiction to meth as well. I have not used for a long time but the urge is always there. I did not toss my gal out she is a keeper and a very long time friend and she did me no harm. She did f*** up bad but hey that is life with an addict and I am in for the long run. I do not envy the next few years of this gals life it is hard on friends and lovers and anyone near by. She may not make it this time or the next but she might and that is all she can hope for. There are treatments that help but cost on the order of 15000 USD per month but even those fail often. I have a very hard time watching shows like this because it reminds me of me and my gal and the hurt and the tears that go with it and I have a huge urge to use when watching just to forget, for a while, the crap it brings up and the good and bad memories. All I can say is good luck to her she is at least on a path that might help. All it takes is just a few weekends to become a life time user remember that when you are out partying. Meth is everywhere on the west coast, it is almost impossible to get away from short of becoming clostered. Even the jails have meth suppliers. It sucks.
^
Yeah, I was surprised that she was in California, since there's noticeably less meth on the east coast, though Florida is supposedly pretty bad. Never been out west myself, but I think the gay/lesbian scene is 'big' there, which may be a factor for her.
There's drugs anywhere you go though. It really is an everyday battle once you've become an addict. Once you're clean for a while there are very easy days to get through, but it's like a cold war that could spark up any moment. Then there will suddenly be random days that cravings and all are back and it really is a struggle.
Apparently the episode tonight is about a former clean-cut track athlete that turned to drugs after an injury. Not sure of his events and he probably isn't on the same level that Treesa was.
He is wearing a shirt with a stop sign that says "Stop Snitching." At first I thought it said "Stop Rexing" and got all excited.
