How well would Dibaba and Defar do in NCAA men's XC?
How well would Dibaba and Defar do in NCAA men's XC?
All-American for sure.
They'd probably go between 29:45 and 30:00 for 10,000 on the track with some other sub-30:00 runners around them. Assuming they're as good or better at XC as they are on the track, they'd still need a good day to break into the top 100 in NCAA XC.

i have been saying for awhile if defar and dibaba ran in a slow heat of the mens 10k at stanford the womens record could be lowered, i also think they would do better than top 100, look every year only 10-15 american men run a marathon faster than radcliffes record and defar and t. dibaba are at least as good if not better than radcliffe.

Flawed argument. Following that "logic" would make one believe that they could place top-15 at NCAA XC. How many collegiate males run 8:05 or better for 3k on less than ideal indoor tracks? Women could not do that.
How many college males run faster than 14:15 in less than ideal weather? Women could not do that.
And last, how many college males run faster than 29:30?
I don't know how many do these times each year, but I know it is more than 15-20 in each case.
If you look at the NCAA D1 list at 5,000m from last year there were roughly 110 guys who broke 14:12 (the regional standard). Last time I checked the world record for women is 14:14, so put these ladies in a race where guys are running around 14 flat and they might have a shot at being top 100 in the NCAA D1. Add in the top guys from the other divisions of college running and they slide even further down, maybe as far as 130ish.
Would they pass the drug test?
One thing to consider is that the NCAA championships don't feature the 240 or so best cross country runners in the country, but the 35 best teams. There are lots of 14-flat guys that don't make it.
From homepage: "*How Would Dibaba and Defar Due at NCAA Men's XC?"
Due???

Wouldn't 14:00 guys probably qualify as individuals...?
