I heard after Masback resigned the Sacramento Sports Commmission will sue USATF for conflict of interest over the 2012, etc. Olympic Trials. Is that true ?

I hope so. Anyone that wanted a fair bidding process for the 2012 Trials has been cheated by USATF.
Agreed, Sac and any other city that was bidding got Masbacked. They need to take Eugene out and rebid for 2012.
Hopefully, they win and allow a more central location where hotels don't go from $75 to $300 a night and you need to book for 10 nights!
can someone explain to me how the sacramento sports commission has standing to sue usatf for this?
I believe that there are laws as far as a bidding process. I don't believe you can make up your own rules for selection of a site.
Anyone can file a suit. Getting it heard...
Jesus Chuck, we'd you get your law degree? Mail order from the Carribean? USATF has clearly violated the SSC's 22nd Amendment rights. Go back and hit the books...
(Anyone who isn't an attorney, please ignore this pitiful attempt at legal humor.)
shoot, i knew i shouldn't have stopped reading the constitution at the 19th amendment.
luv2run, of course they can file one. my question was about standing.

corrected.
obviously that isn't totally right either but it's far closer to the truth. there are people/entities who would potentially have standing to sue usatf over this, i think; i'm just trying to figure out how SSC would. additionally, for those that i think would have standing, it would be a colossal waste of resources (like most "shareholder" suits) even if they were to win and would likely only benefit the attorneys who take the case.
Bid rigging is illegal for non-profit charities.
Maybe, but if anything, Masbachs reputation is ruined by recent his recent behavior. He'll never be considered for a job at any other athletic federation or sports organization.
this wasn't bid-rigging. there was no bidding to rig.

and i'm sure he's crying all over his fat nike paycheck about that.
Anyone that does not beleive that Nike purchased the trials to be up in Eugene must still believe in the tooth fairy.
As for Hotels in Eugene, sorry, but they suck.
Even the Hilton downtown is a mold pit.
There are going to be a ton of complaints from people going to the trials there. More so then in Sacramento.
As far as running, I do not consider Nike relevant in that area. At one time yes.
Not now.
I cannot respect a company that makes Air Jordons that gang bangers will kill each other over.

Here is where you are wrong. Craig Masback has spent the better part of his life involved in Track and Field. He worked hard as an athlete and as an administator. He made a huge ethical and borderline criminal lack of ethics decision as he departed from Track and Field. That is how he will be remembered to most of us. That big salary is just a reminder to most of us of an unethical man. No matter how big his paycheck is, he can never buy his reputation back. I understand that may be tough for a lawyer to understand.
there was no understanding problem. like i said, i'm sure he cares what you or i think. and borderline criminal - are you having a laugh?
Masback is a Hamas mole in the Mossad as is being rendered to back to Israel for post-processing.
They'll get Masback for international trade violations, influence peddling to China, the foreign country who owns nike.
As I said, I wouldn't expect a lawyer to understand the importance of a reputation.
