She sucked the first time around, so if she wants to try again, she should not get the chance to do it at Boston. It makes me mad that Boston allows 'charity' runners and special groups to run (and who knows, maybe celebrities) when everyone else has to qualify. I think it takes away from the 'specialness' of qualifying. I don't want to get into an argument that slower runners and charity runners don't belong in marathons, I just think that for one race, they should not be allowed so that having to qualify truly makes it special.
It could be kind of embarrassing. I mean, 5 hours and change blends in with the crowd at NYC. In Boston, it sticks out as being like...after everyone else has gone home.
The big question is....Does she get relegated to the second wave start? I doubt that the TV, and newspaper, cameras will be following that wave.

Yes. You don't want to get into an argument. You simply want to state your SIDE of it and then have no-one contradict you.
Perhaps you could stick your fingers in your ears?
Sadly, she will probably get more media attention then anyone else that day. This should be so much fun to follow.
If you can run Boston have 18 cameras follow you and bring even more attention the race, maybe you'll get some special treatment too?
Why do you think they are willing to pay the elites hundreds of thousands of dollars to come? They are paying for the exposure and coverage that results from fast runners being in the race. With someone like Holmes they'll get extra exposure pretty much for free.
Funny how the people who whine about stuff like this are quite often the same ones who whine about running not getting enough coverage or being marketed well enough.

"You guys commenting are the morons. He was simply stating that a healthy woman running a 5.5-hour marathon is not worthy of any sort of news coverage (which is true!)
Monica, you’re a serious creep if you go and actually stalk him and find-out where he works because he has a difference of opinion from you. Then you insert a story about some woman with MS and diabetes which is barely related to this at all.'
It could be kind of embarrassing.....
In your/our world yes, in hers, hardly. She would probably say driving around in your/my car is embarrassing instead of a MB, BMW, etc.... Not saying that she's materialistic as I don't know sh#t about her, just using an example.
It's all relative.
I give her credit though. She did NYC on the down low and NOT drawing all sorts of media attention to herself. She did it for her it would seem.
she runs marathons so she doesn't have to spend time with her doofus husband, talking about that BS scientology.
in fact, she could probably run a sub 3 but likes the extra 2+ hours away from him.

emphasis on this thread. hilarious
This is the only type of star Boston is willing to get anymore...forget the marathoners, lets get the movie stars!
Barf!

At least she gets away from the Scientologists for 5-6 hours.

I disagree, why do you think she had an iPod on her?
we've been over this. it's called the Olympic trials marathon. If you don't qualify for that you aren't special so give it up. You are just like the rest of us who have no room to criticize someone else for running a marathon. Albeit it's in 5.5 hrs but who cares because if she trained she could most likely run a 4 hour marathon like the talentless runner that you are, Chica.
She's got great boobies and they shake nicely when she run.

They are saggy.
The second one is fake. It says it right on the image
She seemed to have good form in the opening credits for Dawson's Creek, when they all went to college in Boston.
