Abraham Chebii¡¯s finishing speed is renowned. His tremendous ability became obvious for the first time in a big international competition at the Grad Prix Final in 2002. He won the 3,000 metres in Paris and covered the last lap in 50.68 seconds. That is a superb split. If he would run two of these laps he would end up very close to the 800 metres world record.
Has anyone ever run a faster last lap in a distance race (3000-10.000)?
