he's my hero
i have to call bullshit on this one. asian men tend to have small dicks and lagat is married straight man.
Yeah, that was awesome. 'My wife took me to Outback Steak. I am sure I had the biggest steak in all of Japan, and I woke up feeling strong."
In high school, I always ate steak the night before races-- medium-rare filet mignon. There were a few times I'd eat a whole rack of babyback ribs at Charleston's. Mind you, I'm a 5'9"/115 lbs woman, but I bet I could outeat just about anybody, even the night before a race!:)
so the whole spaghetti-loading deal is now out the window. no wonder i can't break 15 minutes.
commercial time!
I told you so.
What's your PR at the Gondolier?
Did he bang the wife after dinner?
Yeah, and a 12oz T-Bone in Osaka is gonna run about, what, $300 American dollars? I remember reading about Alberto Cova, 1984 10,000m gold medalist from Italy, ate steak and spaghetti almost every night. Also won the 83 WC 10,000m and 82 European Cup.

That's two nights before.
A steak at Outback in Osaka would be about $30
No, that's impossible. It couldn't have happened. Beef is poison and no one could possibly run well after eating beef the night before.
Also, Tyson Gay didn't eat at McDonald's because everyone knows that the food they serve there (beef, bread, cheese, potatoes, ketchup, chicken, etc.) is poison. Everyone at letsrun.com knows that good performances only come from "eating healthy" which means heaping daily rations of kale, plain rice and tofu.

I'm with you. Redmeat is practically sin for most. But my body always feels very healthy & strong afterwards and for the next day. Who knows? Maybe our iron content (while not deficient) is on the low side and the steak addresses that. Meanwhile, spaghetti-loading just makes me feel bloated/heavy. I'd rather balance the proteins/carbs/fats for track/XC distances.
Remember Carlos Lopes- Portugal? He always had a steak four hours before a marathon.

I am shocked it would be that low from what colleagues who have spent a lot of time in Japan tell me.
Man, gotta love the internet.

Looks like a 225 g filet would be about 26 USD.
My colleagues must be eating at more upscale places!!!
I stand corrected.
Damn, sent that too quickly. 225g is a little less than 8 ounces.

This is hysterical.....as funny as the Abdi drunk video...
Can you ever imagine a Jackass like Michael Vick talking about his wife bringing him to OUTBACK or playing with his son...
Lagat rules..I always liked him...now he is my idol My friend met him at the ARMORY and said he was a great guy. He was there with Gladts and their son.
