Wjat are you talking about?
doping allegation.
skah supplied athletes with drugs.
Why would it taint it? I can recall rumors of him doping at the time to say nothing of the fact that he received aid in the form of his cheating teammate in that race and Chelimo should have won. Good.
From Le Monde, dated 26.07.07 and translated by Google:
"E French medium-distance race did not finish the spring cleaning begun at the summer 2006. According to our information, in a dated June 27 mail, the Moroccan half-founder Aïssa Dghoughi forwarded to the medical commission of the international Federation of athletics (IAAF) a list of French athletes to which it is shown to have provided doping products. In this letter, it also affirms that its compatriot Khalid Skah, Olympic champion of the 10.000 m in 1992 and champion of the world of cross-country race in 1990 and 1991, and a manager German athletes, Dorothee Paulmann, would have done as much of it.
Among the athletes blamed appear the ex-recordwoman of France of the 1.500 m Latifa Essarokh, and the ex-champion of France of cross-country races Khalid Zoubaa, which currently purge respective suspensions of two and three years for positive controls with the stanozolol (steroid anabolic) for the first and with the EPO for the second.
But Aïssa Dghoughi also quotes Yamina Bouchaouante, Julie Coulaud, recordwoman of France of the 3.000 m steeple, Bouchra Ghezielle, bronze medal-holder on 1.500 m with the championships of the world of 2005, Mustapha Tantan and Bouabdellah Tahri, former Co-recordman of Europe of the 3.000 m steeple.
Khalid Skah, according to him, provided products to Essarokh, Zoubaa and Bouchaouante. As for Dorothee Paulmann, which lives in Trier (Germany), former wife of a doctor, ex-triathlète and to manage approved by the IAAF of the Kenyan half-caster Edith Masai, it would provide “regularly” Bouabdellah Tahri in prohibited products."
There's more. If there's one thing we've learned over the last few years is that most of these allegations eventually prove themselves true.
Funny that this comes up right now. I was just talking to a friend about how we both believe Morocco is the biggest drug-abusing nation in the sport and that it looks like their meds are peaking in time for Osaka.

Um, try Americans.
What? Moroccan runners doping? I'm flabbergasted. Next thing you know, a silly rumor will come out that the East Germans used drugs.
Khalid Skah did some "training in Albuquerque" in his heyday.
What is the most common theme in this list, aside from running?
A partial list of Olympic distance-running medalists who have trained in Albuquerque:
LIZ McCOLGAN, Great Britain
NOUREDDINE MORCELI, Algeria

A partial list of world- and national-class distance runners who have trained in Albuquerque during the past year:

AMY YODER BEGLEY, Kendallville, Ind.
ELVA DRYER, Albuquerque (Durango, Colo.)
LAUREN FLESHMAN, Stanford, Calif.
? EDDY HELLEBUYCK, Albuquerque (Belgium)
BOB KENNEDY, Indianapolis
LORNAH KIPLAGAT, The Netherlands
BRANTLEY LUTZ, Albuquerque

Guys, I really don't need my good named sullied thanks to wonky Google translating. Jeez.
Thanks,
ERoF
Don't forget Antoni Niemczak. Last I knew, he was running a bed-and-breakfast in Albuquerque.
Of course, many great runners with no hint of doping scandals have lived or trained in Albuquerque, but the city does seem to have had more than its share of runners with positive doping tests or suspicious histories.
Tally up the nation-of-origin of convicted DISTANCE drug cheats, and the letters m, o , r, and c figure prominently at the top of the list. Of course, none of those letters are found in the name of the other country so prominent, which is just across the Gibraltar Straight.
So there may or may not be a pattern. But what is the common thread? Do they all go to the same doctor, or all hang out at Eddy H's house, or do they frequent suppliers in the bushes near the Academy track, or is it the green chile, or what? I keep reading about this nefarious Albuquerque connection but have never seen any specific mention of the common denominator behind the regularly-intimated widespread wrongdoing other than "they" all train in Albuquerque. Just curious, because it sort of bugs me to keep seeing this Albuquerque stuff.
What, there are morrocan distance runners who are taking drugs?I'm shocked!
Seriously, considering how many Morrocans(or of morrocan descent) have been caught and their ties to each other i wonder if there's any clean one.
Does anyone here really think that Lahlafi, Hissou or Goumri were/are clean?
Atleast the Spaniards seem to get a little bit more serious when you look at the yearly top lists.

What Academy?
I have no inside knowledge about any of this. Mexico is perhaps the biggest source of anabolic steroids into the U.S., and New Mexico is a well-known route for drug traffickers into other parts of the U.S. It certainly wouldn't shock me if steroids and other performance-enhancing substances were more readily available in New Mexico than they are elsewhere in the U.S.
Still, if Albuquerque has had more than its share of dopers -- and I don't know that it has -- then it may just be that there's been a small cluster of dopers who have lived and trained there for a while. But the city has also had many great runners, including a number of Kenyans (from Ibrahim Hussein to Henry Rono), who seem to have settled down there just because they like the city, the people, and the environment, and I have no suspicions about them whatsoever.
it would provide “regularly” Bouabdellah Tahri in prohibited products.
Does this mean Bob Tahri is doped?!

That's the accusation, but his manager denies he knows the supposed supplier, Dorothee Paulmann.

No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
