From the 'Wired' article, it sounds as though Chad has bought into the Salazar Project thinking totally. (He was the only one swearing by the machines to tell him if he was ready to go hard.) So, since Coach Al says you have to geet your 5K and 10K times down before moving to the marathon, it must mean you need to get your 1500 time down before you get your 5K time down, etc., etc. I've been excited to see the great progress this Minnesota boy has been making (OK, he grew up in Wisconsin), but that article has me worried that he's ditching his own instincts in favor of Omega wave readouts and so on. Can't fault him for jumping on the Nike gravy train, but I hope he doesn't ditch the kind of training he did with Hanson's that got him to that US title.
