Awesome. His pr was 13:37 right? Nice drop
Hopefully some guys from Flotrack were there!?!?! I'd love to see a video!
Lap 1: McGrath and Kiptoo-Biwot (Oregon) pacing, 1:02.6 first lap. 5m lead over rest of field.
Lap 2: Aish (Nike) in 3rd behind the leading pace setters. 1:07.0 split as the field begins to catch the pacers.
Lap 3: Field strung out behind the rabbits. McGrath drops out as Kiptoo-Biwot splits at 1:05.7
Lap 4: Kiptoo-Biwot followed by Aish and Riley (Nike). Runners single file.
Lap 5: 1:04.0 split for Kiptoo-Biwot, 4:19 mile.
Lap 6: 5:25 2,00 meters. 1:05.3 split for Kiptoo-Biwot with a 5m lead. Rest of field reluctant to follow pace.
Lap 7: Riley moves up to second, Kiptoo drops off at 1:07 split. Riley takes over the lead followed by Omori (Shikoku), Solinsky (Wisconsin) and Rupp (Oregon)
Lap 8: 1:06 split for Riley. Nine runners in lead pack.
Lap 9: 8:47 2 mile 1:08.1 split for Riley, lead pack still bunched behind Riley. Asmerom (Unatt.) moves to lead, followed by Rupp.
Lap 10: 1:07.1 split for Asmerom and Rupp, leading the pack. Pack has a 15m lead over rest of field. Rupp takes over lead, followed by Omori. Solinsky passes Omori for second.
Lap 11: 1:02.9 split for Rupp as he and Solinsky break away from the pack. Rupp and Solinsky take a 5m lead over Aish with 2 laps to go. Solinsky moves to the lead on the backstretch.
Lap 12: 1:01.1 split as Solinsky and Rupp break away from the field approaching the bell. 12:28 at the bell for Solinsky, who begins to pull away from Rupp. Solinsky and Rupp down the straight away. Photo finish as Rupp passes Solinsky, who falls forward at the line. Rupp breaks a three-year-old personal best (13:30.49). Solinsky second with 13:30.54. Both are Olympic Trials ‘A’ Qualifying standards. Asmerom in third (13:34.23) and Graham (OTC) 4th in 13:34.43 also both Olympic trials standard.
More important- a major victory over a tough opponent. For all the fast times Rupp has run, this may be a "first".

4:43 last 1800m? Very solid...
Rupp outkicking someone???
WOW!
Full results, anyone? The "live update" is a bit laughable
its not like it was made up out of thin air...

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the full results. I don't want a lap-by-lap analysis of the leaders, I want a full readout of all competitors.
then go find it and stop being a dick.
ya dick
What the hell is up with Oregon's results website? That is lame!

Thank You
Thanks a lot. Did Withrow run much closer to 14:00 earlier in the indoor season?
I think Withrow ran something like 14:01/03 in the indoor season.
I s it just me, or does it seem like Winthrow has fallen off considerably since his freshmen year. He reminds me of Sage.. This last question is pretty random, but whatever happened to Benninger this year. Hes always solid in cross, and we all know he has plenty of range, but when is he gonna finally breakthrough on the track. His 13:33 at the age of 20 seems like so long ago.
Yip, it seems people here crap all over Ritz, Rupp, and you see a guy who had such promise in his freshmen year running so so (for him) and no one notices how bad a season he's had. I'm not crapping on him, but noticing that he's going backwards.

To be fair, hasn't he been injured quite a bit recently? Hopefully he can get back on the horse so to speak and rediscover that groove he had going in late high school/early college. Best of luck to him.
The 5k was a great race. The last 1400 or so was flying. Solinsky looked like he had the race most of the last lap, but tied up in the final 100m. Rupp went after him on the home stretch and nipped him at the line. There is a good picture of the finish on the Ducks homepage http://www.goducks.com/
