The first non african born runner came in 44th place! That is not just good-that is dominance.

Might have something to do with the waves upon waves of fans who overflowed the course.
Rumor has it they lined the course with big macs to slow the white runners
On the women's side, it was a little better. The first non-african born runner was 14th. Of course, Ireland's Britton Fionnuala was 2:22 behing the winner.
In the junior boys, a Japanese runner was 34th but he was only 2:11 back from the win.
I guess best non-african born runner in the championships appears to be Tomoeda Misato of Japan who was 11th in the JR girls - just 59 secs behind the winner.
Letherby was 3:17 behind in the senior men in 44th.
truly dominance, one small note:
women's senior race, a portugese was 12th, 1.58 behind kiplagat
12 Augusto Jessica POR 28:21 1:58

And you are surprised why?
But this time it was just a lousy performance by the non-african borns, 1:40 behind Tadesse was good enough for 10th place, thats about the equivalent of a 27:50 10k.
There were hardly any good white boys in the race, i think the best whitey in the race was Weidlinger(13:15 guy) who dnf.No Mottram, no Lebid, no Tegenkamp, no Cragg, no Goucher...

But everyone knows that Iberian athletes are of the same stock as North African athletes...
it still puzzles me why the african girls have yet to find a women to beat radcliffe's marathon time, i guess that day will come, but when? i say april of 2014

I'd prefer if you could be a little more specific in your estimation. Thank you
okay i pick the london marathon winner in april 2014, werknesh kidane now 25 years old who will be 32 at the time, a good age for a marathoner will go 2 hours 13 minutes.
But the stats on the marathon WR find the African women at a bit of a disadvantage. Of all the sub 2:20's there is only one African woman, while there are 1 European, 1 North American, and 5 Asians. So that 2:14 may very well come from elsewhere.

Really? Someone please explain this to me. You're saying that Spanish/Portugese people are primarily Arab? How do you explain the Moroccan dominance?

I am not so sure the spanish and portugese would agree with you. I am also not so sure (let's ask Khalid Khannouchi)any Morroccan or Algerian athlete would agree with you.
By the way, Jessica Augusto was born in France, and actually 9th in the european champs in the fall, remarkable performance in Mombasa.

I'll explain it to you, but you won't like it, and my post will be deleted........ epo.
