"KATIE MCGREGOR PULLS OUT!" would be a fitting headline on your front page, yes?
Good for her. I was hoping she would. I like her (as a runner). I want to see her safe.
if you want to see her safe she might as well quit the sport of running.
There have been viable and realistic threats against the meet itself. It has nothing to do with running, it has to do with being smart. It's a shame, and it sucks, but it's the truth.
What happened to ... we are not going to let the terrorist change us.. blah blah.
I think the threat in New York is as great as the threat in Mombasa..
Its simply arrogance and ignorance and maybe even a little racism on your part...
Anyway.. no reason for you to come half way across the world to get your butts kicked.. stay at home and eat your FRENCH FRIES!!! fatty's
Mr Moderator, deleting Glenn McCarthy's post (among others) was a poor decision.
That's not being afraid in the U.S. Some dump overseas is entirely different.

DOH...I was thinking about another thread. If I do this again in the next year, I'm banning myself.

How do you put an Ethiopian in a headlock?
See below for the answer

The U.S. team is down to just four women
this is how we put u in a head lock
It's on her team website.
My general understanding is the US doesn't want the athletes touring around at all. So pretty much stay at the hotel and race and that doesn't sound very appealing to some of the athletes.
Others are concerned about their safety.
Out of interest, do you know what other countries are doing? Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Great Britain (I know a little about the team there in so much as Jon Brown decided not to do it)? Is it likely there will be reduced teams from huge numbers of countries, what about all the European countries? Could the world cross have the lowest number of finishers seen?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think a lot of this is driven by fear of the unknown. There is some racism mixed in with that. It is unfortunate.

yeah, definitely. security is just as tight and reliable in Kenya as it is in New York. You got us there, right?
