Has anyone used the timex GPS (Global positioning satellite)? We carry them in my running store, but have not gotten a chance to play around yet, and also am not sure if i will get one. How accurate is it? also, doesnt nike have something similar with the armband and watch? i know they at least look like theyll be fun to try, but it sure is an expensive toy. later
I in fact use a GPS everyday to record all of my runs. Seems pretty accurate too! I bet a lot of people will be using them in the future, especially if costs go down. I wonder what the tech will look like in, say, 20 years or so.
Wow. Crazy that the OP didn't get bumped for almost 20 years. It's amazing how affordable and commonplace GPS watches have become.
I remember when I go my first Garmin. It looked like I was running with a brick attached to my wrist. I got weird looks, running with it. It took a few years before their size was indistinguishable from regular watches. What a great invention. No longer did you have to measure courses by driving them in your car and memorizing landmarks, "First quarter mile is at the big oak tree, mile 1, is at the stop size..."
