Whew, thank God you made this thread. I thought nobody was going to mention Georgia Bell here.
same thing that happened to jessica hull…..
Cal has ruined more womens distance runners than any other college
their best 1500m runner ran 4:27 this year and nobody broke 17 in the 5k
We should be lucky Bell escaped that and found motivation to make a comeback later.

Let's be honest they are very likely to be doping.

Its called cocktails of drugs
...it was a decade away from track doing duathlons and building a monster base, something that few collegiate women can do? Maybe a lot of years of not having your training interrupted by multiple running related injuries like stress fractures? Motivation to try running one more time after spending years working a desk job?
How sad is our sport and its fans that it can only believe a performance if it was achieved through a combination of orthodox high mileage, suffering, eating disorders, neurotic behaviors, getting your body and mind pummeled, and taking a vow of poverty? Yes, there are plenty of dopers in the sport but why the hate for athletes like Bell and Valby that find success with other methods?
it is amazing how much u improve with the right training and direction.
