Not exactly something he should be waving around, that would require an explanation and the circumstances of him getting it aren't that flattering. But, good for him anyway.
Yep. Some people will rain on his parade but he earned it. There will be more in his future.
he did but he definitely owes Vernon Norwood an X-Box-his big brother saved his butt in the prelim with a sub-44 leg and did really well in the final to get past Hudson-Smith on leg 2....

Certainly. Team effort but sometimes one team member stands out, just like any team sport.
Good for him but he should have never been in the prelim. The coaches and USATF think about media story lines over the best possible team. The coaches almost cost the US men both relay golds

since neither Hall or Norman ran final were they even available for the heat? USA may have been running out of 400 m runners.

From his interview, I think he's got a good attitude about it. He knows he didn't run well. But his teammates didn't panic, they rose to action, and they came through in the end. It's a beautiful story, that was almost a heartbreak, but it wasn't! Thank heavens. Norwood, Deadmon, and Bailey. Legends.
He helped get them to the final…even though he ran a 47. All athletes that competed for the winning team, even if not in the final get a medal. Not a great run for him but he’s got a ridiculously exciting future ahead.

I have nothing against Quincy, and wish him the best in the future, but I can't see how you can justify saying he earned it. Was it justified that he was included in the relay pool, most definitely. Is running a 44.20 at age 16 incredible? Of course - absolutely! But saying somebody earned something suggests they did something positive for whatever was their cause. And as far as did he help (rather than hinder) the actual US effort to win gold in the 4 x 400?...no. Even if he is entirely without blame for what happened, there is no way that having somebody lead off in 47 seconds helped the US win gold, so in that sense, I don't think he "earned" it.
