I’m sorry but if you think that Hoppel is the only one who is clean and made a massive leap like everyone else has this year then you’re seriously mistaken. There likely is something going around that hasn’t been banned or discovered by WADA and pretty much every 800m runner is on it.

We would all be fools to not admit that this is definitely possible. The number of people running times that only a few people in history could ever dream of touching is about more than the shoes.
On the other hand, if I ever thought an athlete could move up a spot based on a subsequent doping violation, it would be Hoppel in this race.
At least one guy ahead of him (and I think two) is absolutely glowing.

Isn't everyone now using bicarb, which is thought to be great for managing lactic acidosis?

Hasn't that been around for several years? Why is it suddenly making a difference?

There's definitely something going on that's being kept on the down low. The event, with most of the same guys, was shuffling along at 1:43/1:44 for four years and suddenly everyone is running 1:41/1:42. It doesn't make sense. Maybe new shoe tech, maybe a legal supplement, but it's more than just hard work when it happens across the board

I'm well aware the Americans are dirty, but IMHO Hoppel is less of an blatant doper than is Sedjati. It does feel unfair to always be calling out Spanish and North African runners, but there's a lot of smoke there.
