Megan looked pretty bad from the start. Not her usual running style
She's clearly not 100% well, she's a ~30.30 runner this year and did a 33.XX getting dropped immediately. Can't read much more into it than that.
I was trying to lip read what she said to Eilish afterwards I caught the word ‘leg’ but she was very upset. Not sure what’s up - whether she’s injured or ill but definitely not herself.

Ambled round in 33.20 . Can only be illness related . Covid , maybe ?
It's strange , because she almost fell over on the start line when the gun went .
They should pull these lapped runners off the track, before they even get lapped. At one point in the men's 10,000 I thought Cheptegei had made a big move and broken away from the lead group and after a few seconds I realized that it was another runner from Uganda about to get lapped. One of these days a lapped runner is going to get in the way of a close finish and it's going to be a mess.
Cathal Dennehy intimated that Covid has been a bigger problem at the games than organisers have let on. There's seemingly a don't ask, don't tell policy. I've seen a few athletes suddenly seem bereft of power when they needed it.
Ankle injury , according to Scottish Athletics
Lol ambled.
Keith was clearly a bit stiff, she'll come back from this
On or off the track?
How would you like it if you got lapped and then pulled off the track in perhaps the only time in your life to participate in these games? Yeah you probably resent it for your life. At the top international level, woman's performance is highly skewed but that does not mean that more mediocre performers do not deserve to be on the world stage--perhaps slowing the medalists by a couple of seconds.
Keith was clearly carrying an injury. I'm guessing she'd missed a bunch of training in the lead up, so it's not really a fair comparison.
Valby ran well though. 11th in the Olympic 10,000m is an excellent performance, and she was right in the race until the last 2 laps.

Wow. How NOT to run a 4 x 100. US men's medal drought in 4 x 100 is now going to extend to 24 years
