Coming down the homestretch I thought Grant might take it. He was moving better than anyone from 100 to 50.
I thought, "this is his chance."
What a run!

You ever see Harambe coming down the homestretch?
How many times are you going to say the same thing that didn’t happen?
nah Chep was easily moving better from 100 to 50 it was clear he had it won but still hype for Grant to move past Mo and give himself the insurance he needed for when Aregawi edged him
Grant could've won this race if he had positioned himself a bit better. He had the fitness and the kick to do it. It would've been neck and neck with Cheptegei, but he could've done it if he had followed his back.
I told my wife with 1200 to go, "This feels like London when Rupp got silver."
Somehow this feels even more satisfying though
He looked and raced fantastic, less than half a second away from the win
With about 150 to go, I thought the same thing too.
The guy has really matured.
Because nobody likes Rupp and Fisher is actually cool
It was so incredible to watch Grant run that race. He literally never held back on any move. Incredible.
Well-deserved Bronze!
(And Nico did fantastic as well!).
I'm really confused, you never thought you'd say "I thought Fisher was going to win it" or you never thought you'd say "this is his chance"?
as Wejo never thought he'd say "I never thought I'd say that I thought Fisher could win it" as Wejo also thought--but didn't think he's say--"this is his chance"

He got outkicked in the last 100m yet somehow he has the kick to do it? Makes sense yes

I’ve never seen Cheptegei get caught ant the end and he’s pretty much won all of them in this fashion. I think he always lets off the gas a smidge with 100 to go cuz he knows he has the gap and wants to make sure he gets there. I never really thought Grant could win, but thought silver for sure. Aregawi finally got loose and had everything left though, no shame in that.
I thought for sure for the first minute after the race he had silver.
Even the unofficial timers on other channels had him with 2nd place.
Does anyone have the typically stretched out finishing timing photo?
The splits show he had it until the last few meters, 0.02 seconds short?

26.16.4 -> 26.30.2 -> 26.43.44

Ya think? On the last lap(!) the pack had to go around a lane 1 turtle. I actually think there should be a rule in champs that you must move out (if possible) or you get DQ. Lapped runners are literally a hazard.
