Kerr about Ingebrigtsen's super race: - I'm not worried
The 1,500 meter duel between Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr is being referred to as "one of the greatest races of all time" already long before the competitors have lined up on the starting line.
On Wednesday, the Briton held a press conference, where there were some inevitable questions about Ingebrigtsen.
The Norwegian ran to the European record for 1500 meters in Monaco earlier in July with a time of 3:26.73.
- Monaco is a fast race every year, and it was no different this year. A race a couple of weeks before the Olympics is always going to be fast, no matter where it's run, Kerr began of the super race, before issuing a warning:
- I've beaten people with much faster personal bests in the past, so I'm not worried.
Kerr became world champion last summer, where he relegated Ingebrigtsen to silver in the 1500 metres.
The Norwegian star has become a pop artist since he and Kerr last met. It has not yet settled on the brain of the Briton.
- I turned off the phone and haven't been on social media for a long time, so I don't know what you're talking about. I am focused on running fast in the 1,500 meters in the Olympics, he says of "No one does it better"
