I can only watch the odd bit at work on my phone but looks an epic race unfolding!
Go on Potter!
Argh :(
Watched snippets at work, looked awesome, look forward to watching it later.
Assuming she run out of steam on the 10K?
Yes, although she seemed happy with the position she finished in (won't write it in case you don't know).
Why wasn't the start called back? One woman loses her balance and dives in. The runners beside her then dive in. Then, most of the field dives in. Then, the remained swimmers see there's no false start so they dive in.

Lmao
This is a good point because they can get a 15 second time penalty for a false start:
See false starts segment.
Don't know why the Paris organizers wanted the triathletes to swim in that filthy river. I'm surprised that the triathlon athletes would subject themselves to being forced to swim in that cesspool. Where was the governing body of the triathlon?
"where was the governing body of triathlon?"
well let's see when they first decided to make triathlon an Olympic sport they changed it to a draft legal race, made it only 1 distance, and did select a longer distance because the head of the governing body (who has obviously never even done a triathlon thought the Ironman distance was inhumane?
pretty much they have been AOL for years.
they were probably in an air conditioned high rise building sipping wine on someone else's dime.

One of the Austrian female triathletes reported that the water was so disgusting she threw up *during* the swim. Let that sink in…it must have been truly disgusting, smelly and filthy if it was that bad. I sincerely hope that we don’t see a lot of illness in the next day or so as a follow on of the inevitable (ie. Swallowing or getting small amounts of sewerage water in the mouth during a competitive swimming race).

No one wanted an event that was going to take 10 hours (which was around the winning time of an Ironman when triathlon was selected. The Olympic distance is perfect as it can be easily competed at. Takes around 2 hours and the distances are common in each of the individual sports.
