Had a question about the length of a rep and the impact it would have on a runner who is training for a 5k.
What would be the more effective approach to interval training be?
Assume you have five runners who are able to maintain the same paces on all the distances and jog recoveries.
Also assume that the total distance covered for the workout is the same.
Who ends up faster at the end of the season in a 5k? My assumption would be the runner doing 1000s is obtaining more adaptations from the longer reps.
Runner 1. 1000s with 500 jog recovery
Runner 2. 800s with 400 jog recovery
Runner 3. 400s with 200 jog recovery
Runner 4. 200s with 100 jog recovery
Runner 5. 100s with 50 jog recovery
