A close-up on the 1500m and the 110m hurdles at Athletissima: The 49th edition of the Lausanne meeting (Wanda Diamond League) on 22 August will feature middle-distance star Jakob Ingebrigtsen and the almost unbeatable Grant H...
He is also slated to run the 3k three days later. Seems like a bad idea since the 3k I presume would be a WR attempt but he has shown incredible doubling abilities. What do you guys think? He is going against Tim C, Habz, and Romo.

That makes 7 DL races at minimum this season (Eugene, Oslo, Monaco, Lausanne, Silesia, Brussels x2). Wouldn’t surprise me to see him running in Zurich on August 5 as well.
The biggest piece of evidence against Silesia being a WR attempt is that Jakob hasn’t called it one. For a guy who can run 3:43 and 7:23 in a weekend, 3:28 and then 7:20 three days later looks surprisingly manageable.

I'd agree. I bet the day he ran the 3:26.73 he could have ran sub-7:20.
Good decision on his part to enter that race. The sooner he can run another 1500 to get over his loss to Kerr in the Olympics, the better it will be for his mental health.

There are definitely good enough pacers in the world who could pace 2200m at that pace. Now if you were asking for 2600m, that's a real long shot unless you convince like Kerr or something to pace for Ingebrigsten
Is Jakob going to try to take down the 1500m and 3000m world records in a span of 4 days? I wouldn't put it past him to try... If he pulls off the double in Paris, then follows it up with 1 or 2 world records, I think he is in the conversation for GOAT middle distance runner.
He absolutely would be the goat middle distance runner if he won the double and then went on to break the 1500 and 3k records in the span of a few days, no doubt about that. The chances of that happening though are very small.
I don´t think it is a problem to run 1500m WR attack in Lausanne and then a 3000m WR attack in Silesia 3 days later. In 3 days an athlete with Jakob´s endurance can recover fully ......and perhaps even SUPERCOMPENSATE a bit.
It would be more problematic if the 3000m WR was attacked first.
