Keely ran one of the fastest times ever (number 6 all time) with a tonne of fast times behind her and the race only had a 10 minute review. The men's mile was a massive let down with 2 favourites falling so early on, but it got almost a 20 minute review which somehow turned into talking about Cole Hocker hahah. Obviously we're all a bit bias, I would love to hear more chat about non-US athletes and a bit less about Jakob too. I understand everyone has their favourite events and athletes (Jakob in the 1500 for the letsrun boys), but when Keely is running times we haven't seen since Semenya she deserves a bit more credit.
The gap between Keely and Mu is arguably bigger than ever - prior to this Mu was 0.22 better than Hodgkinson. Keely is now 0.36 better than Mu's PB. In the 1500m we've often heard how much is thought to be lost by leading. Keely ran the whole thing from the front - surely that's got to be worth at least 1:53 now?
Also, it basically wasn't mentioned about what that 800 means for the olympics. Reekie is a massive shot for a medal now, and perhaps even for Silver. The likes of Moraa, Akins, Sekgodiso are all over 1 second behind Reekie this year. Anddddd, Georgia Bell just ran low 1:56 (she now has the quickest PB out of all the 1500m women) to go alongside her 3:56 PB this year. I don't see the women's 1500 as an all out time trial in Paris, perhaps it'll kick off after the first lap, and if it goes that way she surely has to be in with a shot too?
