100 percent true. I'm tough to impress, but as I said I was proud of him finishing strong. He lost his Nikes the day before, so I bought him the Walmart shoes straight off the rack.
Bought him some Walmart shoes, took him to the track and said run 4 laps as fast as you can. He is 8 years old and obviously no training.
Is this decent?
But why did you do that?
What did he think of this?
I wanted to show him what I did in college and high school and what it feels like. I wanted him to understand that he can dig deeper than he thinks to finish what he started. He also plays soccer 2x week, so going to avoid going back to track for a while unless he mentions wanting to improve his time.

Why in Walmart shoes? Did you run HS and college in Walmart shoes?
