Dave Devine has his story for Dyestat.
What a baller. He didn't start running until his 20s but he took bronze in the 1924 Olympic cross country race, leading the US to a surprise team silver in a race described by the AP as “probably the most spectacular Olympic race ever witnessed" but one that was so brutal most of the field dropped out. It was so hot and the tough so course that Olympic organizers got scared and never ran another xc race at the Olympics again.
